I’m Fired
Okay, so I know you likely expected to see an article up yesterday. But the very evening I was to write up yesterday’s article, a fire broke out in my kitchen. Let’s just say my priority was to put the fire out rather than write the article. Not that you’re not important to me…
Do you have any idea how big a mess a fire extinguisher makes? Believe me these pictures don’t even begin to do justice to the mess that was in every room in the house, and to the horrid stench that still permeates everything from the smoke. Not to mention the fact that the agent used in the fire extinguisher is an irritant, so we’ve got to get everything super clean before we can unleash my 14 month old in the house.
So what am I driving at? In my spare time I get to clean, not write articles. But in a couple days we’ll be back to normal around here. Until then, hang loose mongoose!

Hey Tim.
Sorry to hear that. You’re right: you have to thoroughly clean everything now.
My boiler (an old coal-burning boiler converted to an oil-burning boiler) overheated and cracked. The oil guy shut me down and had to report the issue. I couldn’t get oil to heat the home. Long story short: I had to get guys to take that old dinosaur apart and install a clean gas boiler. Aside from the obvious threat of asbestos and having to knock apart parts of the fireproof walls to get the 1,000+pound beast disassembled, imagine the soot all over the house. Some parts are still covered, and that was from last year! And the awful smell, because they had to drain the old oil out of the tank. The tank was HUGE, like a rhinocerous. Anyway, that’s probably enough. We’ll get together and talk one day
